The start of a new year often inspires us to reflect on the past year as well as anticipate the upcoming year. This transitional time can facilitate a natural inclination to reflect on the experiences, values, activities, people, intentions, and goals we would like to prioritize in 2025. The joys, losses, and significant events of the previous year as well as the expectations, dreams, and hopes for the new year are all important to bring into our present awareness. Taking time to reflect can transpire as a solo activity, such as journaling, or can take place in conversation with others, such as with a friend, partner, or therapist.
