INTRO

Hello! My name is Sara Zingsheim and I’m a mental health counselor and co-owner of Best Self Counseling Center. I’m trained in Brainspotting, a public speaker, and former educator. For more than 25 years I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, couples, families and facilitated groups. I’m skill-oriented, a lover of learning, and commit to bringing MY best self to you. 

 

PHILOSOPHY

I'm my best self when I serve and help others. I believe your healing is possible and also recognize it’s a vulnerable, and at times, an uncomfortable process. I first want you to know that you are seen and understood. You’ll BUILD confidence and well-being through insight and skills learned during our time together.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’ll process the roots of your challenges or conflicts, and you’ll discover how chronic thoughts and behaviors create emotional and physical manifestations in you - and also impact your relationships. Feeling safe and secure in the counseling process, you’ll feel increased resilience and grit. CHANGE is possible! You’ll GROW to appreciate and love who you are as you unlock your potential and find your BEST SELF!

 

AREAS OF INTEREST

Adults with complex trauma (abuse, neglect, dysfunction) from childhood, healthy marriages, parenting, and relationships, depression and anxiety, therapeutic skill education and development, strength from a faith perspective, nutrition and holistic practices.

 

APPROACH

I use a number of different treatment approaches to help my clients meet their goals. These include: education related to the brain and body for increased mental and physical health, healing with a faith/Christian lens, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, internal family systems, and more.
